Dear Friends
It’s been a while since our last news update but we are pleased to inform that quite a lot has been going on! Just to give you a quick rundown of what updates you need to know. There is now a new cocotinos.com website. ADEX has been postponed and moved to a new venue. Silkair has introduced an additional flight every Thursday. We are introducing “Extra Special Deals”. Following this update, we will be keeping you informed on our Cocotinos Lombok project and also our Scuba Diver AustralAsia Digital Shoot Out Series 2009 event in Cocotinos Manado. Till then... Odyssea Divers – Euro Divers International Alliance formalised!
Christian Natalizzi and his team in Euro Divers Indonesia together with Andrew and his team in Odyssea Divers have completed the alliance and formation of “Odyssea Divers – Euro Divers International” (ODEDI)! With this alliance, Moel Tjitra has been appointed as the new manager of the dive operations at Cocotinos Manado. Moel will be assisted by Odyssea’s existing team which includes Silvia, Miki, Djecky and Syainal. This alliance has already seen an increase in bookings and agent awareness from Europe from the time Euro Divers began its marketing campaign last month through their client network and participation in Europe’s biggest consumer and trade shows.
“We have no doubt that this alliance will bring together the best of both cultures from Euro Divers and Odyssea Divers to the benefit of the diving community. I would personally like to thank Jose Valverde and Christian Natalizzi of Euro Divers International for their trust and confidence in Odyssea Divers and Cocotinos Resort by choosing to enter into this alliance to promote diving in Manado and Lombok.” – Andrew Lok
ADEX 2009 – Singapore... Change of Venue and Date
2009 will see ADEX moved to a new venue in Marina @ Keppel Bay (close to Harbour Front); as such this exciting event in our diving industry will be held next to Boat Asia 2009. We believe that this is better for it will bring in a wider audience to the show. Cocotinos and ODEDI will again be participating in ADEX from 23 Apr 2009 to 26 Apr 2009 with a booth to create awareness, catch up with old friends and hopefully new friends! Martinus and Andrew will again be hosting the booth. So book your dates with Martinus in Singapore ASAP! Look out for our ADEX Cocotinos Special Dive Package promotions!

Silkair Promotion and Added flight
Silkair is having a special fare for travel from Singapore to Manado (return) in the month of March 2009. Minimum two-to-go fares starting from 228SGD (excluding Tax and Service fees) which is only valid for purchase within this month of February. From 29 March 2009, Silkair will have an additional flight on every Thursday from Singapore to Manado.
Singapore – Manado : MI274 ETD 0925Hrs >>> Manado – Singapore : MI273 ETD 1345Hrs
This additional flight will make the Singapore-Manado schedule five times a week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We hope that you all will take advantage of this additional flight. Who knows? We may even see an extra special fare from Silkair to travel on Thursdays.
Tech Diving Facility and Courses Available!
Congratulations to Alfonso Ribote on being the very FIRST certified Technical Foundation and Advance Nitrox TXR diver in Indonesia!
Silvia Perez (pictured) is our in-house Technical Foundations & SSI Advanced Nitrox Instructor TXR (Technical Extended Range). We now offer courses on Technical Foundations & Advanced Nitrox, and also Decompression Procedures. In the summer of 2009, we will start to offer courses on Normoxic Trimix and Advanced Procedures Decompression.
At Cocotinos, you can find the one and only technical facility in North Sulawesi. Although we are SSI for technical diving, we can also provide our facilities to other schools to conduct their courses.
All qualified technical divers can enjoy our facility and pursue their interests in logging more deep dives while still enjoying rich marine life on Bunaken Marine Park walls. Do deco with a view of reefs and fishes. Wrecks are also available in Lembeh which requires an overland excursion. Since the last news update, Cocotinos has made accumulated many more photos of guests of our resort – thanks to all for your support! It is our tradition that all guests have their photographs taken at the entrance lobby in front our now famous fossilised coral wall with the Cocotinos name plaque above! The more photos we have the more guests we have. Feel Free to visit our guest photo.

Staff Additions and Farewells
In the last few months, we bid farewells to Fike, Siti, Fatima, Lewie and Hanny. All of them have played significant roles in the opening of Cocotinos Manado and Odyssea Divers. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours! Any guest wishing to contact them can still write to us to get their new contact details.
Saying farewells usually comes with “Hello and welcome to the team”: Domo, Lulun (pictured - L) and Sasti (pictured - R)have joined our team in the Bar & Restaurant Department working with Virson, and Indri in Laleina Spa. We also welcome back Chef DiDi as the kitchen department coordinator. Nice food!
